Hindle Evolution Megaphone exhaust: what it is and your options

The Evolution Megaphone, or Evo Megaphone, is a Hindle muffler with the shape of the Hindle Evolution muffler in a shorter megaphone style. Hindle builds it for specific bikes as a slip-on or as a full system. A slip-on replaces the mid-pipe and muffler and keeps the stock header. A full system replaces the header pipes too, in thin gauge stainless steel. Options vary by bike, and each product page lists what is available:

  • End cap: Stainless, Black Ceramic Coated or Carbon Fiber
  • Finish: brushed stainless, black versions of many systems, and a front to back Black Cerakote coating on some full systems
  • Mount: Street or Race on many models, where Race includes a bracket that eliminates the footpeg
  • Pipe height: high and low versions on some bikes, such as the YZF-R7 and YZF-R9

Frequently asked questions

What is the best megaphone exhaust for my motorcycle?

Start with fitment. If your bike is listed above, choose the slip-on for a simpler install that keeps the stock header, or the full system to replace the header pipes as well.

Is the Evo Megaphone the same as the Evolution muffler?

No. The Evo Megaphone takes the shape of the Evolution muffler in a shorter megaphone style. Some bikes offer both, so check the options on each product page.

Street mount or race mount?

Street mount suits road riding. Race mount adds a bracket that eliminates the footpeg and is the choice for racing.

Do I need a tune with an Evo Megaphone system?

A full system changes more of the airflow than a slip-on, so fueling deserves a look. Read does an aftermarket exhaust require ECU tuning and does a motorcycle exhaust increase horsepower.
